CUSTOMER JOURNEY MAP
Your Garden Nook Journey
From daydream to doorstep,
here’s how your story unfolds.
Every Nook begins with a spark — an idea, a longing, a whispered wish for a space that’s only yours. From that first spark, we take your hand and walk you through the journey, step by step. No trades to chase. No chaos to manage. Just one small team guiding you all the way

Chapter One: Let’s Begin With a Dream
It all begins with an enquiry — a message, a phone call, or a note through our website. Just tell us you're imagining something special at the end of the garden… and we’ll take it from there.
We begin with a discovery call to hear your story. A Garden Nook is never just one thing. It might be your work sanctuary, your guest snug, your escape into books, your music room — or all of these, depending on the day.
Our spaces are built to shift with your life.
So we’ll ask:
Which role will matter most to you, most often?
This helps shape your interior layout and key features — without limiting its magic.
Next comes a site visit, where we check access, layout, light, and ground condition. We walk the space with you and discuss everything from door direction to finish options — even where the kettle might go.
Within a few days, you’ll receive a detailed written plan including everything we discussed — model, heating, interior layout, finishes, timeline, and care package.
If you decide to begin your Nook journey with us, we’ll request a 33% deposit (excluding VAT) to secure your build slot in our workshop.
Then your story enters the next chapter…
Chapter Two: The Build Begins Behind the Scenes
While you carry on with daily life, your Nook is quietly taking shape in our local workshop. No flatpacks. No prefab kits. Just timber, tools, and time — guided by hands that care about every cut.
Here’s what’s unfolding:
-
Precision-cut frame with dual-pitched insulated roof
-
Full electrical system, wired for lights, sockets, and internet
-
Thermal doors and windows, made to fit each curve
-
Interior layout, prepared for your chosen use
-
Heating system installation, matched to your lifestyle (see next chapter)
But it’s the little things that make it magic…
-
Your structural uprights — chunky reclaimed railway sleepers — are now ordered and being prepared
-
Your wall panels — crafted from reclaimed scaffold boards — are being sealed using Sho Sugi Ban, a traditional Japanese charring method that protects and deepens the grain
-
Your miniature logs — gathered from fallen branches in our local woodland — are dried in our own kiln and hand-sliced into tiny discs, ready to be inlaid into your Nook’s interior
-
See the Sho Sugi Ban process in action — watch the video below.
These aren’t just materials. They’re memories in the making — each piece carrying a story from woodland to workshop to your garden.

Chapter Three: Choose Your Warmth
No matter the season, your Nook is built for life — not just for summer. Every space is fully insulated and made for year-round use, so now it’s time to choose how you’ll keep it warm and welcoming.
We offer three carefully designed options:
Option 1: Log Burner + Standard Electrical Connection
-
Choose from our handpicked collection of compact, high-efficiency stoves
-
Includes flue, fireproof base, log store, and full safety certification
-
Fitted and tested by our in-house team — no subcontractors
-
Lit for you on handover day, so your Nook begins with a flicker and a flame
Ideal for those who love a real fire and the comfort of traditional warmth.
Option 2: Solar-Powered Underfloor Heating (No Log Burner)
-
Instead of a log burner and standard electrical hookup, you can choose off-grid solar power
-
Ground-mounted solar panels charge a battery system for lighting and heating
-
Supplies a full underfloor heating system, installed beneath engineered wood flooring — chosen for its natural look and thermal compatibility
This option offers quiet, clean, flame-free comfort — perfect for off-grid living and gentle heat underfoot.
Option 3: Off-Grid Solar + Log Burner Combo (Additional Cost)
-
Combine the warmth of a log burner with the self-sufficiency of solar power
-
Ground-mounted solar panels and battery storage support lights, sockets, and connectivity
-
Ideal for remote locations or those seeking full independence, with no compromise on comfort
Each system is installed and tested by our trusted team, tailored to your lifestyle and setting — so whether you want cosy firelight, silent solar warmth, or both, your Nook will always feel like home.

Chapter Four: Make It Yours
Now that your Nook has its shape and warmth, it’s time to make it truly yours — inside and out.
Every Garden Nook comes with full interior customisation, guided by our design team. No optional extras. No unexpected upgrades. Just one all-in price — and the freedom to make it feel like home.
Layout Options
We offer two handcrafted internal layouts:
-
The Studio Nook
Includes a built-in seating area with deep storage beneath — perfect for lounging, reading, or welcoming guests -
The Work Nook
A fully fitted office setup that includes:-
A hand-built desk, shelving, and integrated workspace
-
An ergonomic chair
-
Built-in pull-out bench seating with hidden storage, allowing you to transform the room for guests or rest whenever you're not working
-
Every element is made in our workshop — no mass-produced furniture, no flat-pack shortcuts.
Finishes & Furnishings
Our interiors are built from reclaimed and natural materials, selected for beauty and longevity. You’ll choose:
-
Wall and trim colours — soft, calming tones or bold, creative finishes
-
External cladding — either sealed reclaimed scaffold boards or Sho Sugi Ban charred timber (used for exterior only)
-
Interior lighting — pendant, task lighting, or soft ambient fixtures
-
Door colour and hardware finish — matched to your garden style
-
Flooring — premium engineered wood, perfectly suited for underfloor heating or the ambient warmth of a log burner
Everything is designed to work together — rooted in nature, ready for modern life.
Mosaic Wall Feature
Every Nook includes your choice of a custom mosaic wall — a signature feature that turns your space into a story.
You can choose from:
-
Seasonal Designs – Hand-painted slate mosaics representing spring, summer, autumn, or winter
-
DIY Kits – A complete at-home package so you can make your own
-
Bespoke Commissions – Designed just for you by mosaic artist Sherry Savage, either shipped from her Canadian studio or built in-house from her custom design
-
View Sherry’s work here → (Insert live link when ready)
-
Each mosaic is installed during the four-day build and becomes part of your Nook’s permanent story.
Design Support
Whether you’ve got a vision in mind or need help bringing it together, our designer will guide you — by phone, photo, or one-to-one call.
We’ll help with palettes, proportions, material pairings, and finishing touches — or keep it beautifully simple, if that’s more your style.

Chapter Five: The Four-Day Transformation
After weeks of careful crafting in the workshop, your Nook is finally ready to come home. And unlike most builds — with their muddy footprints, skipped deliveries, and endless trades — our process is clean, calm, and beautifully choreographed.
Your entire installation happens on-site over just four days. You don’t need to manage a thing. No builders to chase. No skip on the drive. No mess in the garden.
Just a trusted team that arrives, builds, finishes, and leaves your Nook ready to step into.
Day 1: Foundations and First Fix
-
Our team arrives with your structural elements and tools
-
We prepare and install the foundation base — a solid, level frame laid directly onto your prepared ground
-
Railway sleepers are positioned and secured — these become the central structural uprights
-
First fix electrics are installed: all wiring, sockets, lighting runs, and data cabling
-
The site is cleared and prepped, ready for the walls to slot in the next day
Day 2: Walls, Roof, and Windows
-
Modular wall panels, pre-built in our workshop, are slotted neatly into place between the railway sleepers
-
Curved roof timbers and internal roof structure are raised and sealed
-
Doors and windows are fitted, weatherproofed, and checked
-
Your Nook is now weather-tight and ready for its finishing layer
Day 3: Interior Assembly & Heating
-
Your pre-built interior layout is installed and secured:
-
Studio seating or fully fitted Work Nook with hand-built desk, chair, and hidden pull-out bench
-
Shelving, fixtures, lighting, and hardware
-
-
Heating system is fitted and tested:
-
Log burner and flue installed and safety-tested
-
Or underfloor heating system connected to your solar battery supply
-
-
Flooring and mosaic wall, both fitted in the workshop, are checked and signed off for quality and finish
-
The structure now feels whole — warm, enclosed, and nearly ready for handover.
Day 4: Final Inspection, Fire, and Farewell
-
All final works are completed: trims, sealant, finishing details, and final clean
-
A full electrical and heating inspection is carried out on-site
-
We hand over all certificates — including electrical safety, heating sign-off, and installation documentation
-
If you’ve chosen a log burner, we light the fire for the very first time
-
You receive:
-
Your Care Package — including touch-up materials, spare parts, and a seasonal gift
-
Your Handover Folder — with all warranties, certifications, and care instructions
-
Confirmation of your first annual Nook check-up, part of our 5-year aftercare promise
-
Then, quietly and carefully, we pack away our tools… and leave behind something extraordinary:
A handcrafted, firelit space — ready for your next chapter.

Chapter Six: The Fire’s Lit
On the final day, something shifts.
The tools are packed away. The brushes are rinsed. The checklist is signed off.
And then… we open the door, and let you in.
This is more than a structure. It's the first step into something slower, warmer, quieter.
We show you how everything works. We light the fire (if you’ve chosen one).
You feel the warmth settle in. The air changes. The silence deepens.
And just like that — it’s yours.
You’re handed your Handover Folder, with all your certifications, documents, and warranties.
You receive your Care Package — a thoughtful box with spare parts, touch-up materials, and a seasonal gift, unique to the time of year.
You’re booked in for your first annual check-up, part of our 10-year care commitment.
And then we go.
We leave behind not just a finished Nook, but a space with memory built into its bones —
Reclaimed timber with stories in its grain, mosaic walls that carry meaning, and corners waiting for quiet moments to unfold.
Whether you use it for work, rest, guests, or dreams — your Nook will shape itself around you.
It’s ready now.
And your story is just beginning.
